Gayle Muehring has always interpreted the world with an artist’s eye. A lifelong interest in art has led her currently to creating paintings in watercolor, acrylic and oil. Gayle is a colorist, using rich, saturated pigment in her paintings. She paints landscapes, still life images, and abstracts with the intent of guiding the viewer’s eye into the richness and beauty of the subject. Her style is both impressionistic and abstract. Whether her subject is a landscape of Mt. Diablo or an abstract, Gayle's paintings evoke a sense of passion, drama, and appreciation for the subject's intrinsic beauty. Her deep reverence for nature guides  her interpretation of  landscapes.

Gayle creates both representational landscapes and abstract emotional landscapes.  Inspiration for the abstract paintings can come from a single emotion, an event, colors, ideas, dreams, travel and nature  Her current abstracts evoke a sense of calmness and space.

She is a current member of the Alamo-Danville Artists Society, Lamorinda Arts Alliance, East Bay Artists Guild, and Arts Benicia.
