Montana, 36 x 24, oil on canvas.
One summer I visited my cousin who lived on a ranch outside of a small town in Montana. The landscapes were amazing and I now know why Montana is called Big Sky country. The sky and the land seemed to go on forever. One afternoon a thunderstorm came in and I painted the storm coming in. The colors were so dramatic: bright gold where the sun was still shining and dark gray where the thunderclouds were forming. The storm passed through quickly and all was bright gold again. |
