Path of Shadow, 20 x 16, oil on canvas

I have hiked in almost every landscape I paint. This shadowy trail was in Redwood Regional Park located in Oakland, CA. Some of the trails have towering redwood trees which makes light hard to reach the path. It feels like you are entering another world where the hobbits might live!
