Slice of Life Series
While studying the Abstract Expressionist painters, I discovered Clifford Still. I had completed a painting that had similar shapes to his. I was so moved by his paintings that I created a series of paintings inspired by him. In this series, I paint vertical jagged edge shapes which look like stalactites and stalagmites in caverns. I think of these shapes as raw emotions in which each painting symbolizes a dramatic slice of life.
